What's new in pit lane?

Hello!

It's been about a month since my last post, so I thought it would be a good time for a DevLog on where things are with the game's development!

While my available time to work on the game has been cut back by my very active job hunt, I'm still working away at the next steps for RES. The current updates are all in the background, but they are designed to allow me to implement some major quality of life improvements in the not too distant future. For those interested in the technical side of things, I am working on disconnecting the core loop of the game from the system clock, which is a rather significant code refactor. By removing the reliance on system time I will be able to introduce some vitally important features, the most notable being a pause screen (which has been a thorn in my side for quite some time).

In terms of bug fixes, I have yet to hear about any new bugs that I was not aware of, which is a good sign, but there are some issues that I will be looking to deal with in the Pause Menu Update. Any issues involving faulty timer displays should by fixed with the next update, and I'm looking into why the game is not enforcing a 16:9 aspect ratio.  As it stands, most players do use a 1080p or 4k monitor, so the aspect ratio problem isn't currently causing problems, but I do consider it a major target to fix. For now, I will need to simply ask players to avoid playing on different aspect ratios as it breaks the UI.

Thanks to everyone who has been playing, and good luck in your races!
